Phuket Places to Visit
A number of attractive places are scattered all along Phuket's coastlines. Following are the places most frequently visited by tourists:
Patong Beach
One of the best beach in Phuket and most popular among domestic and foreign tourists. It is 15 km. from Phuket town; the curved way leading to delightful Patong Beach is pleasant with green hills on both sides. With its white sand against the blue sky, its crystal sea and colourful coral reefs and sea fishes.Nai Yang Beach
A national park shadowed by a fringe of bright green trees, it is an ideal place for a picnic, swimming and snorkelling among the colourful creature of the sea.Surin Beach

The Bay is attractive for its numerous unusual limestone out-crops, cliffs and islets which rise from a clear turquoise sea. Marine Biological Research Centre: There is a good aquarium here with a variety of both ocean and fresh-water fish. Open daily 08:30-16:00.
Butterfly Garden and Aquarium: This landscaped open-air enclosure contains thousands of colourful butterflies, plus an excellent tropical aquarium. Open daily 09:00- 17:30.
Wat Chalong: One of Phuket's largest Buddhist temples, Wat Chalong situated in the south of the island behind Chalong Bay is highly revered for the images of two of its former abbots who possessed legendary healing skills.
Wat Phra Thong: Located in Thalang District, this temple is famous for its gold (now covered with plaster) Buddha image half-buried in the ground. Legend has it that many people have died trying unsuccessfully to unearth the statue.
Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Sanctuary: The last surviving patch of the rainforest that once covered the island. Lush flora plus attractive waterfalls located close to Thalang.
