Phuket town is the vibrant administrative centre of Phuket Island and the capital of Phuket. Phuket town is often overlooked by tourists in favour of the west coast beach resorts, but there is plenty to see and do in Phuket town. Having been recently upgraded to city status, Phuket city has a variety of shops and activities available.

Phuket town is the capital and hub of Phuket Island. The town is buzzing 24 hours a day. There are two very busy markets, a large local Robinsons department store and an American style shopping mall. In addition there are a multitude of food vendors, street cafes and cosmopolitan bars. For local convenience there is an excellent bus service available, travelling to the tourist hotspots in Patong, Karon and Kata.

Phuket town is located in south east Phuket. Phuket tow is only a short distance north of Chalong and the boat lagoon marina.
